range of camp programs to provide fun for all Scouts from
Tiger Cubs to Venturers. Day Camp: "The CAMP that comes to the
boy," day camp is an organized program for Cub Scouts and
Webelos Scouts under certified leadership at an approved site,
usually during daylight or early evening hours. Den members
are supervised by parents, den or pack leaders while they are
in attendance at day camp. Akela Adventure Camp (Ages: 1st -
4th grade): This three-day, two-night camp is designed for Cub
Scouts and siblings currently in 1st - 4th grade and promotes
quality time between parents and children. Webelos Explorer
Camp: A fun filled event with just the right mixture of
challenge, Webelos camp is for boys graduating third or fourth
grade this year. The 4 days and 3 nights spent at Webelos Camp
will be the best days of your summer and it will give you a
peek at what is just over the hill. Lewis & Clark Scout Camp:
Lewis and Clark Scout Camp is located 10 west of Yankton,
South Dakota on the shore of the beautiful Lewis and Clark
Lake, part of the Missouri River. Lewis and Clark offers an
extensive summer camp program with over 40 merit badges, COPE,
Sailing, Challenge Valley obstacle course, Buckskin Adventure
and many more fun and exciting programs. Missouri River High
Adventure Base: Camp on islands, learn to throw a tomahawk
like a pro, horseback riding, archery, black powder muskets,
view and help care for endangers species of fish and fowl,
learn and practice Leave No Trace principles. Visit historic
sites from a vantage point few ever experience. This co-ed
friendly program starts at our base camp headquarters at the
Lewis & Clark Scout Camp near Yankton, South Dakota. Your week
long adventure is a little like a floating summer camp
experience, but more.

Tailfeathers Camp - Hunter Safety Course
(Ages 11-15)
Tailfeather Camp offers a unique one week camping experience. Our mission is to highlight South Dakota’s vast outdoor opportunities to our youth and build strong families through hunting and fishing traditions. This program is designed for beginning hunters and provides extensive hands-on instruction in basic firearms safety, and shooting techniques in rifle, shotguns, and archery. Our goal is to teach youth to hunt and fish safely, but also to understand how to manage, protect and conserve wildlife. Knowledge and skills they will use for a lifetime. Registration fee includes all meals, firearms and archery equipment use, all ammo and targets, and instructional materials. This week long program includes ten plus hours of classroom and hands-on experiences taught by certified SD HuntSAFE and BowSafe instructors that are dedicated to help our youth participate safely in these sports. Once the basics of safe firearms handling are understood, Campers will learn shotgun marksmanship skills and take part shooting sporting clays at the Isaac Walton League range where they will to put what they have learned into practice. Campers will enjoy fishing excursions where they will learn about native species and apply catch and release practices to ensure healthy fish populations in the future. Campers will also discover valuable outdoor skills such as; outdoor cooking, leave no trace practices, environmentalism, conservation, and natural history. Certified instructors will be incorporating basic safety skills instruction, team building games and challenges, using different types of climbing adventures on-site and off-site at the beautiful Palisades State Park. Closing ceremonies will take place within the beautiful woods and prairies of South Dakota, Hunters Point Shooting Club near Humbolt, SD. Tailfeather campers and their family members will receive a special invitation to participate in an actual fall hunting experience that will take place at Hunters Point.

Babysitting Boot Camp (Ages 10 and Up)
Be the most caring, the most fun, and the most knowledgeable babysitter in your neighborhood! Be a Super Sitter!! This 3-day boot camp readies your pre-teen son or daughter for babysitting with tips on basic child care, safety precautions, preventing accidents and basic life-saving techniques. And we make that learning FUN! The camp also will give your child experience with infant and child CPR and first aid skills (each camper will receive a portable first aid kit upon completion of camp). Each babysitter will get first hand training with the children in our childcare center, which makes our Babysitter Training Camp a unique experience, unlike any other!
